Philip is an accredited Project Manager who over the past 5 years has delivered £4m of public sector programmes to support small businesses in the construction and sustainability sectors.
Working across national and international remits, Philip has led projects to engage with over 1,400 SMEs, helping them develop the skills and market awareness to deliver the UK’s green agenda. He understands the needs of small businesses , and therefore ensuring that all our work is as accessible as possible, for example running breakfast and after-work sessions.
Along the way Philip has gained recognition as a leading spokesperson on the sustainability marketplace and has acted as a Government advisor on environmental policy development. As a result, he maintains seats on the Green Construction Board, Supply Chain Insight Group and Household Energy 2020 Strategy group.
Bristol born and raised, Philip maintains a keen interest in the area and holds a season ticket at Ashton Gate, the home of Bristol City Football Club.
Head of Sustainability and Construction
Toby manages our programmes in the West of England. Having worked with a wide range of start-up and SME businesses, he has a wealth of experience in supporting all kinds of businesses.
Toby really enjoys working closely with both potential entrepreneurs to help them shape their ideas, and with business owners to make a real difference to their sustainability and growth.
His particular expertise lies in digital marketing and social media, a key component in helping businesses get their brand out into the marketplace.
Outside of work, Toby is a volunteer Trustee for a Bristol based charity, The Harbour, and is a keen fan of Liverpool Football Club.
Andy has considerable experience in the wider SME sector having spent 23 years in business banking with a major UK lender where he was responsible for a varied portfolio with aggregate debit balances of approaching £20 million.
He has also worked in the charity sector for the Citizen’s Advice Bureau, (where he remains a Trustee), as well as having run his own business advice consultancy and working for Business West’s ‘Access to Finance’ initiative, an independent national business support organisation.
In his spare time Andy is a keen amateur runner and runs locally with Nailsea Running Club.
Senior Marketing Advisor
As Senior Marketing Advisor, Sally supports businesses with brand development, marketing strategy and social media.
Having spent 16 years teaching Design and Marketing in Higher Education, alongside commercial consultancy work, Sally has considerable expertise of working with and advising start-ups and established SMEs.
Sally also brings direct experience of running her own business having created a children’s educational product which she took to market through a successful crowdfunding campaign. This has given her immense insight and first-hand experience of running and growing a start-up – and the associated challenges.
Outside of work, Sally enjoys yoga, continues her own design work and is kept busy by her two young sons!
Julia supports a variety of our programmes in the West of England as Business Engagement Coordinator, including Business Support and our Enabling Housing Innovation for Inclusive Growth project.
With her experience in Business Development and recently acquired Media Communications degree, Julia applies her skills learnt here by engaging with businesses in need of support through the use of social media and workshops hosted by YTKO. She also supports with marketing and maintaining professional relationships with partners to ensure the success of a range of projects.
Outside of work, Julia enjoys maintaining a balanced lifestyle by going to the gym, attending live music events and travelling.
Business Engagement Coordinator
Sarah is the Project Manager for North & East Bristol Support, coming to the project with 10 years of experience working in global business event operations and project management, as well as being a certified PRINCE2 practitioner.
Within her career, Sarah has helped to build and provide platforms for businesses and individuals to learn, network and inspire industries, placing enormous value on teamwork and the bespoke needs of businesses.
Equality and sustainability is a fundamental part of Sarah’s project management, and she has built a wealth of experience in understanding strategies for successful business sustainability, as well as being a passionate advocate of equality and anti-discrimination.
During her spare time, Sarah is a keen road cyclist and enjoys exploring new parts of Bristol and surrounding areas on her bike.
Born in Los Angeles and raised in the United States, Mercy brings a diverse perspective having lived in various places including Los Angeles, Las Vegas, Mexico, Ireland and now making Bristol her new home.
With a degree in Advertising and 5+ years professional experience in Digital Marketing, Mercy specialises in UX Design, Graphic Design, Photography, Branding and all things Digital Marketing. She has helped many small businesses build their brands and get noticed online.
She’s passionate about inclusivity, supporting local businesses and co-ops and helping build a more circular local economy.
